Lauren Edwards, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate under the Supervision of Kayli Cross, LMFT-S
Hi! My name is Lauren and I'm so glad you are seeking help. It can be intimidating starting therapy for yourself or your child. I strive to build trusting relationships with my clients and seek to provide a safe space where honesty and vulnerability can grow. I am passionate about seeing you as an individual with your own unique experiences that have shaped you. I work collaboratively with my clients, taking the individual and unique needs of each person into consideration in my approach to treatment. Working from an experiential lens, I incorporate evidence based practices by utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques. I'm also passionate about involving family members whenever possible to help better support you in your recovery journey.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies in 2018 and went on to earn a Master of Science in Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy in 2021, both from Texas Tech University. I've gained experience working with individuals, couples, and families of many diverse backgrounds and presenting problems. During my time in graduate school, I gained experience working with adolescents and their families to treat anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. Since graduating, I began working in higher levels of care for eating disorder treatment including residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient care. I'm also a Christian and enjoy incorporating faith into sessions if that is something you're interested in. However, I love working with clients from all walks of life whether you identify as religious or non-religious, you are welcome here.
When I'm out of the office, I love spending time with my husband and our 2 dogs. I also enjoy having game nights with friends and traveling to places I've never been before.
Lauren's fee is $130 per 50 minute session. Sliding scale fees based on household income is available on a limited basis.
