Hi there! I know finding the right counselor can be stressful and my goal is to meet you wherever you are on your mental health journey. As a counselor, I prioritize the therapeutic relationship because I see it as one of the most crucial aspects of making changes. I also love that having fun and exploring new things together in the therapy space is totally encouraged! I understand that every individual is unique, and your experiences, challenges, and aspirations are equally distinct so we will work together to make sure you are getting what you need from your time in counseling. I want to empower you to be your most authentic self during our work together!
My background includes working with tweens, teens, emerging adults, adults, couples, and families in a private practice setting. I am passionate about working with women's health, teens, substance use, and the LGBTQIA+ community. In addition, I am a certified facilitator of the Prepare/Enrich Premarital Counseling Program. To better serve my clients, I will also be pursuing training for EMDR soon!
I received a Bachelor’s of Science in both Psychology and Sociology from Texas A&M University (gig ‘em!!) in 2019 and then went on to earn my Master’s of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hardin-Simmons University in 2022. If personality types are something you love, I am an ISFJ and a 6w5, which are actually both known as "The Defender"! When I'm not at work, I'm probably reading, hanging out with my pup, somewhere with live music, or spending quality time with my loved ones.
Together, we will explore your thoughts, emotions (we love emotions here!!) and concerns, creating a collaborative and supportive space where you can feel heard and understood. I know how hard it can be to not feel seen when you're struggling but through our partnership, I will be committed to walking alongside you on your journey of self-exploration and growth. It would be an honor to work with you!
Ashlyne's fees are $130 per 50 minute session, with income based sliding scale offered on a limited basis.
